About the Presenters:

Lachlan Gunn, Director, BenAlpin Ltd and Co-ordinator, The European ATM Security Team
 

Lachlan Gunn is Director of BenAlpin Ltd (www.benalpin.com), which he founded in July 2000 as a UK based independent consultancy providing commercial security advice and business support & advisory services. 

Lachlan is also Coordinator and a Director of European ATM Security Team Ltd (www.european-atm-security.eu), which gathers and provides information for the European ATM industry and facilitates effective representation of ATM related security issues at relevant European central institutions. 

Lachlan began his career in the British Armed Forces, has managed several commercial security companies and has a strong background in risk management, mainly relating to the transportation, storage and processing of cash.  He has worked in the following locations: Belgium; Croatia; India; Indonesia; Hong Kong; Malaysia; the Netherlands; Singapore; Spain; Taiwan; Thailand; the United Kingdom.

Lachlan is a member of the following professional organisations:  The Institute for Independent Business (IIB) and the ATM Industry Association (ATMIA).



Susan Kohl, President, ThoughtKey

Susan Kohl is the Owner and President of ThoughtKey, a PCI Program and Project Management consulting firm based in Atlanta.  She has over 18 years of international audit, litigation review, regulatory risk management, compliance, and 5+ years concentration on payment data security.  Susan provides her clients with tailored roadmaps including navigation tools and resources to achieve PCI compliance.  Her clients vary from sponsor banks to ISOs to Processors to debit networks to PED manufacturers.    She has her CPISM, TG-3, CPA, and Business Process Reengineering Certifications.  In addition, she is a board member for the ATMIA and participates in NACHA, Merchant Acquirer Risk Council, and the PCI Security Standards Council.   She has authored several proprietary risk documents as well as assisted in developing the ATMIA Mobile Phone Security Manual.



Douglas Russell, Director, DFR Risk Management Ltd

Douglas Russell has more than 20 years’ of global experience in creating and implementing strategic and tactical solutions mitigating ATM fraud and security threats.

In addition to providing consultancy and training services focused on ATM and Self-Service Terminal fraud and security through DFR Risk Management Ltd (http://www.dfrRiskManagement.com) , Douglas also provides the industry with insight, intelligence and information as owner and editor of ATMsecurity.com (http://www.ATMsecurity.com). 

Douglas operates globally with extensive experience addressing ATM threats in Caribbean and Latin America, North America, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

As an author of the recent ATMIA publication: Best Practices for Preventing ATM Skimming (International minimum security guidelines and best practices), Douglas compiled its international classification system of skimming devices and methods in order to give the worldwide industry a tool for understanding the range of possible types of attack.




Mike Urban, Sr Director, Fraud Solutions, FICO

As one of the payment card industry’s most sought-after experts, Mike Urban has over 15 years experience in banking and electronic payment systems.  Mr. Urban currently serves as Senior Director, Fraud Solutions, for Fair Isaac Corporation, where his responsibilities include managing the operations for the ATM network fraud solution as well as leading numerous counterfeit and card compromise fraud initiatives.  He analyzes fraud issues and trends to provide continuous improvements in fraud detection technology.  He also regularly works with law enforcement to help prosecute criminals and has been responsible for uncovering some of the largest counterfeit crime rings in the US.

Mr. Urban’s industry recognition includes GASA ATM Crime Fighter of the Year 2005 and ATMIA Most Influential Member of the Year 2004.  He is also a board member of the Global ATM Security Alliance (GASA), and is an active member of the Santa Fe Group, the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and the ATM Industry Association (ATMIA).

Mr. Urban is an MBA candidate in Fraud Management at Utica College.
